Testimonials

Monday's are a blessing at our house.  Thanks to the Caring Connection at Fairfield Glade Resident Services, my 81 year old mother receives a visitor every Monday who comes to play cards and games with her.  My mom has dementia and can no longer drive.  She gets lonely and oftentimes feels isolated, especially during the winter months.  But, because of a group of ladies who volunteer for Caring Connection, my mom now has something to look forward to each week.  They not only share a fun activity together, but because of these visits my mom feels a sense of community and truly cared about as a person.  Last year my mom celebrated her 80th birthday and these sweet gals stopped by at various times throughout the day to wish her a happy birthday.  I'll never forget the smile on her face! This organization has been a blessing for my mom, and I am very grateful they offer this service in our community.

I had the pleasure of speaking with a member last week who had just received a visit and Welcome Packet from Fairfield Glade Resident Services.  They could not share enough kind words about the visit, basket and visiting representative, thank you!

Kudos and more kudos to FGRS (Fairfield Glade Resident Services)!!!!!!

My husband (81) fell on a golf course and ended up with a compound fracture and surgery. Not allowed to put any weight on his foot for 2-4 months. We needed wheelchair ramps to get him in and out of house to the car for appointments, etc. FGRS to the rescue! I can't thank you enough for your assistance!

Such an amazing organization! Did you know that from 10am until 12noon every Thursday, FGRS holds a free blood pressure, screening at the Village Green Mall? It is a wonderful asset to have in this Community.

--------------------------------------------------

FGRS offers so much more than just a blood pressure check at the screenings. I’ve never had my blood pressure screened at Walmart. And it is wonderful that they provide this service. However, I want to share what happens at the screenings done at the mall. First, it is manned by retired nurses from the FG Community. We follow the American Heart association guidelines. You are asked to sit for five minutes prior to the blood pressure being taken. This assures an accurate reading. We share the services of FGRS. And there are many. Here I’ll list a few; Vial for Life , the Five Wishes pamphlet, which is kind of like a living will. It is a legal document. A postcard size form that gets filled out and you take it to Fairfield Glade police station. It has information if there is an emergency while you’re away. There are many more services. If folks don’t know where it is located, FGRS is located in the strip mall by Domino’s Pizza. Check them out!

I would suggest that everyone who lives in FG consider donating to FGRS, as there will probably be a time you can use their services. A wonderful organization available to us here in FG.

We are very blessed with helpful volunteers in our community! Thanks to all!

I have used Way to Go through FGRS. Another volunteer service they offer. It's a group of drivers that brings those of us who are unable to drive to appointments or other necessary activities for a very minimal fee. I don't know what I'd do without them!

The Welcome Home Group is very helpful To newcomers. We go out to their homes and have a lot of info about the area. We could use some more “greeters”. If you have new neighbors, have them contact the office.
